“Russia Today” came up with a unique way to reenact the Russian Revolution of 1917.
RT’s #1917live project posts real time tweets from 50 accounts that supposedly belong to historical key figures such as the Tsar Nicholas II, Lenin, MPs, military officials and ordinary people that witnessed the events.
All the tweets and characters are based on real events that are announced by “Russian Telegraph”, an imaginary newspaper specifically created for the project which will last for the entire February.
It’s too soon to judge the project’s political outcome but since we are always suspicious and cautious we would advice you to read John Reed’s “Ten Days that Shook the World“. Just to be safe.
