Sharing the concerns for the rise of fascism across Europe, the Anti Fascist Action for Greece (AAfG) is hosting a public discussion on the causes of fascism and the constitutive interrelations between fascism, the economic crisis and specific financial interests. Aris Chatzistefanou –the director of “Catastroika’’ and “Debtocracy”– will be with us, presenting snapshots of “Fascism Inc.”, his new documentary in-the-making.
In this new documentary, “Fascism Inc.”, Aris Chatzistefanou and his team are looking at the relations between the darkest pages of European history, Mussolini’s Italy and Hitler’s Germany, and today’s neo-Nazi and fascist, xenophobic movements across the continent and the UK. Once again, the team is rejecting sponsoring from political parties and corporations and is financing the production of “Fascism Inc.” only via private donations, while the documentary is going to be released freely, with no air and distribution restrictions.
The preview of the documentary shall be followed by an open discussion on the rise of fascism across Europe and the reasons behind it. Tariq Ali, writer, journalist, and filmmaker, a member of the editorial committee of the New Left Review, and Dr Jim Wolfreys, lecturer in French and European politics and columnist for The Guardian will join Aris Chatzistefanou in the panel of discussants.
Admission is free however AAfG would strongly recommend that attendees make a donation at this event. The largest part of collected donations will go to fund the making and distribution of “Fascism Inc.”.
