Ύστερα από καθυστέρηση αρκετών χρόνων και πρωτοφανείς πιέσεις του Ισραήλ, ο Οργανισμός Ηνωμένων Εθνών δημοσίευσε την Τετάρτη λίστα με 112 εταιρείες που δραστηριοποιούνται σε παράνομους ισραηλινούς εποικισμούς στην κατεχόμενη Δυτική όχθη, την Ανατολική Ιερουσαλήμ και στα συριακά υψώματα του Γκολάν.
Καθώς οι εποικισμοί είναι παράνομοι βάσει του διεθνούς δικαίου η κατασκευή τους αποτελεί έγκλημα πολέμου για το οποίο αρμόδιο είναι το Διεθνές Ποινικό Δικαστήριο της Χάγης.
Το διεθνές κίνημα BDS που προωθεί το μποϊκοτάζ, την απόσυρση επενδύσεων και τις κυρώσεις εναντίον του κράτους του Ισραήλ χαιρέτισε την απόφαση.
Από την πλευρά του ο Ισραηλινός υπουργός στρατηγικών υποθέσεων Γκιλάντ Ερντάν κατέφυγε στην γνωστή τακτική κατηγορώντας τον ΟΗΕ για… αντισημιτισμό.
Στη λίστα περιλαμβάνονται γνωστές εταιρείες όπως η Airbnb, η Tripadvisor και η Booking.com αλλά και εταιρείες προϊόντων όπως η Häagen-Dazs, η Yoplait και η Cheerios.
Σημαντικές όμως, σύμφωνα με το BDS, είναι και οι παραλείψεις εταιρειών όπως η Caterpillar, η G4S, η Hewlett-Packard, η Hyundai Heavy Industries, η Cemex, η ΑΧΑ και η Elbit Systems.
